Hasselback Sweet Potatoes are a delicious twist on a classic casserole favorite. Once you learn how to cut the potatoes into slices, you can easily top them with butter, brown sugar, and spices, then let the oven turn them into a crispy side dish. Serve these impressive potatoes up at Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner.
Sweet Potatoes | Butter Olive Oil | Brown Sugar Salt | Cinnamon | Pecans
Preheat the oven to 425°F. Wash and scrub the sweet potatoes. Place two chopsticks on a cutting board with a potato between them.
Cut the potato into slits but stop when you hit the chop sticks so the bottom is still connected. Place on a baking sheet and repeat with all potatoes. Whisk oil, butter, salt, sugar and cinnamon and brush on the potatoes. Ensure the sauce gets in-between the slices.
Cover the baking sheet with tin foil and bake for 25 minutes. Brush the rest of the sauce on and cook uncovered for 20-25 minutes. Once they are cooked add the pecans and reduce the oven to 375° and cook for 5-10 minutes.
