Learn how to cut leeks and then clean them by following a few simple steps. After slicing and cleaning fresh leeks you can use them in healthy soup recipes, roast them in the oven, or cook them in a pan.
Cut off the roots. Cut the intersection between the light green and dark green leaves. For half moon slices then cut the leek lengthwise then slice into small half moons.
For round slices just cut the leek into round slices. Fill a bowl with water and add the leeks. Toss until all the dirt is removed.
Drain the water carefully or use a colander. Pat dry before using the leeks.
