Pumpkin Pie Spice is the best DIY spice mix substitute and tastes great in pies, cookies, muffins, and breads.  This pumpkin spice recipe only has 5 ingredients, is easy to make, and can be stored for up to a year.

  • 3 Tbsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1 Tbsp. ground ginger
  • 1 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1 tsp. allspice


  1. Add all ingredients to a medium-sized bowl and whisk to combine.

  2. Store pumpkin pie spice in an air-tight container (like these 4-ounce mason jars or spice jars) for up to 1-2 years.

  3. Use it in your favorite pumpkin pie recipe, pumpkin muffins, or pumpkin cookies!

This recipe yields ~6 tablespoons of pumpkin pie spice.
Ground cloves and allspice can be substituted for each other.
