Prep Time10 minutes
Total Time30 minutes
Course: Drinks
Cuisine: American
Servings: 2 servings

Ingredients

Lemonade Layer:

  • 2 bananas frozen and quartered
  • 1 ½-5.4 oz. containers lemon Greek yogurt I used Chobani
  • 3-4 T. milk or almondmilk
  • Zest of ½ lemon
  • ½ packet of stevia optional

Strawberry Layer:

  • 1 ½ c. strawberries quartered
  • 1 banana frozen and quartered
  • ½-5.4 oz. container lemon Greek yogurt
  • 3-4 T. milk or almondmilk
  • ½ packet of stevia optional

Instructions

For the Lemonade Layer:

  • Combine all lemonade layer ingredients in a blender and blend for 2 minutes, stopping every 30 seconds to ensure all ingredients are combining.
  • Once lemonade layer ingredients are a smooth consistency pour equal amounts into the bottom of two glasses. Place glasses in freezer for at least 20 minutes. You want the layer to not jiggle when you shake the glass.

For the Strawberry Layer:

  • Combine all remaining ingredients in a blender and blend for 2 minutes, stopping every 30 seconds to ensure all ingredients are combining.
  • Once the lemonade layer is firm, pour equal amounts of the strawberry layer on top of the first layer in each glass.
  • Let smoothie thaw for 10 minutes before drinking. Garnish with a strawberry and lemon and enjoy!
  • ***A few tips:***
  • When making these smoothies, make sure you have sufficiently cut your bananas into pieces. Even with an extremely powerful blender, the banana chunks can still get hung up. If you have this problem, simply remove them and cut the chunk(s) in half.
  • When layering, make sure the first layer is almost completely frozen. You can always let the smoothie thaw for a few more minutes before drinking, but you can't get back mixed up layers!
  • Lastly, if you want to create cool swirls along the sides of the drinks just take a knife or straw and push down from the top layer, through the bottom layer and pull back up. Let your imagination run wild!
