This Green Goddess Dressing is creamy, herby, and bright, loaded with fresh parsley, basil, chives, dill, and the tarragon that gives it its signature flavor. A splash of Worcestershire adds an old-school savory depth, and a Greek yogurt base keeps it light enough to pour over just about anything. It all blends up in about 5 minutes.
Add the Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, lemon juice, parsley, basil, tarragon, chives, dill, garlic, Dijon, Worcestershire, salt, and pepper to a blender or food processor. Blend for 30 to 60 seconds, scraping down the sides as needed, until smooth and creamy. (You can also add everything to a jar and use an immersion blender.)
¾ cup plain 2% Greek yogurt, ⅓ cup mayonnaise, 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice, ⅓ cup fresh flat-leaf parsley leaves, ⅓ cup fresh basil leaves, ¼ cup fresh tarragon, ¼ cup fresh chives, 2 tablespoons fresh dill, 2 garlic cloves, 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard, 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, ½ teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Taste and add salt or pepper as needed. For a thinner, pourable dressing, blend in water 1 tablespoon at a time until it reaches the consistency you want. Use right away, or store in the fridge.
Notes
Consistency: Right out of the blender it’s thick enough to use as a dip or a pasta salad dressing. For more of a pourable salad dressing, blend in water 1 tablespoon at a time until it’s as thin as you like.Herb flexibility: Parsley, basil, chives, and dill are the easiest to find, while tarragon gives the signature green goddess flavor. If you can’t find tarragon, increase the basil and parsley slightly.Mayonnaise swap: For a lighter, tangier dressing, use additional Greek yogurt in place of the mayonnaise.Make it vegetarian: The Worcestershire stands in for the anchovies in classic green goddess. Use a vegetarian or vegan Worcestershire, or leave it out and add a pinch more salt.Make ahead: The flavor actually deepens after an hour or two in the fridge, so it’s great to make in advance.Storage: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. Give it a stir before using.Ways to use it: Toss with salad greens, use as a veggie dip, drizzle over grilled chicken or salmon, spread on sandwiches, or spoon over grain bowls.
