Do you have any big Super Bowl plans for this year?
I will be perfectly honest with you… I do not care a bit about who wins or who is even playing in the Super Bowl (or any other football game for that matter.) And fortunately, the hubs doesn’t either — we do not even have basic cable in our house!!
However, what I do look forward to about that Sunday in February is getting together with a bunch of friends and pigging out on yummy finger foods, salty chips and cheesy dips. You know what I mean?!
Will Men Eat these Buffalo Chicken Celery Sticks?!
When I first came up with the idea of making these buffalo chicken celery sticks I was a bit hesitant of the reaction I would get from a group of guys. After all, very few men tend to gravitate towards the celery on a plate of buffalo wings.
In an attempt to test out the waters, I brought a batch of these buffalo chicken celery sticks to our weekly running group. (The weekly attendance is about 80% males on the reg.)
I set them in the middle of the table, nonchalantly, and waited to see what would happen. Would the men flock to the meat-loaded celery?!
After about five minutes, one male grabbed a celery stick, looked at it rather suspiciously, and then ate it in a single bite. His eyes lit up with a bit of shock and awe.
Before I knew it my container of about twenty buffalo chicken celery sticks had been consumed. Ahhh… sweet success.
What Temperature do you Serve These Buffalo Chicken Celery Sticks?
You can either serve these celery sticks immediately after assembly, while the chicken is still warm, or serve them chilled. I enjoyed them at both temperatures but found it easier to serve them chilled.
If serving these chilled, wait until 1-2 hours before serving to assemble. If the chicken mixture and ranch sits on top of the celery sticks for more than 8 hours, the celery begins to get soggy!
What kind of Hot Sauce did I use?
After doing a bit of research I found that people often use Frank’s Hot Sauce when they make buffalo chicken. Since I was a novice to this whole buffalo chicken thing, I went with what the majority suggested.
While I am sure other hot sauces would taste great, too, I know that Frank’s Hot Sauce was the perfect bit of spiciness for this buffalo chicken.

Thank you!
